In 2025, SOCAR continued its strategically important investment and commercial activities. These operations include the acquisition of an 80% stake in the Bahar and Kum-Deniz fields, the acquisition of a 10% effective stake in the Tamar gas field, located in Israel’s Mediterranean Basin; the development of new petrochemical and energy projects in Turkey; strategic investments in digital infrastructure and the petrochemical sector; and the expansion of gas exports and international partnerships. Operating profit increased by 80% compared to the previous period, reaching 5.2 billion manat ($3.06 billion), while net profit amounted to approximately 3.0 billion manat ($1.7 billion).
The company’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) in 2025 amounted to 10.9 billion manat ($6.4 billion). This figure rose by 26% compared to 2024. The majority of SOCAR’s revenue came from the sale of crude oil, petroleum products, and natural gas.
In addition, it was noted that the increase in operating profit also impacted cash flow: “As a result, cash flow from operating activities grew by 136%.” In addition to being the country’s strategic energy company, SOCAR ranks first in terms of tax contributions to the state budget and is the country’s largest employer. The taxes paid by SOCAR make a significant contribution to the country’s socioeconomic development, and the company’s large-scale investment and social projects contribute to both economic diversification and the development of human capital. In 2025, SOCAR paid 3.8 billion manat ($2.2 billion) to the state in the form of dividends, state contributions, taxes, and social expenditures.
Overall, during the 2021–2025 period, SOCAR paid a total of 15.9 billion manat ($9.3 billion) to the state in the form of dividends, state contributions, taxes, and social expenditures. In addition, during the same 2021–2025 period, the government invested a total of 1.6 billion manat ($940 million) in SOCAR.
