A food industry enterprise with an investment value of 27.5 million manat ($16 million) will start operating in Azerbaijan's Sumgayit Industrial Park. This was reported by the Economic Zones Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy following the granting of resident status to Bimbo QSR Azerbaijan LLC in the Sumgayit Industrial Park, which is managed by the agency. According to the information, within the framework of the project, buns for burgers and hot dogs will be produced.
The annual production capacity of the enterprise will be 150 million units. It's planned to create more than 100 new jobs within the project. Local raw materials will be used in the production process.
The products to be made at the enterprise are intended to be exported to the regional countries in addition to the domestic market. To date, 43 business entities with a total investment volume of more than 6.8 billion manat ($4 billion) have been granted resident status in the Sumgayit Industrial Park. More than 5.6 billion manat ($3.3 billion) has been invested by the residents, and more than 6,400 jobs have been created.
The Sumgayit Industrial Park was established by Decree No. 548 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dated December 21, 2011. The main goal of the park is to create favorable conditions for the development of competitive industrial production based on innovative and high technologies in the country, support entrepreneurship, ensure sustainable development of the non-oil sector, and improve employment of the population in the production sector. Currently, the total area of the Sumgayit Industrial Park is 640 hectares.
The total investment volume in projects implemented in the park reaches $3.94 billion, and it's planned to generate 6,134 permanent jobs. Chairman of the Board of the Economic Zones Development Agency, Seymur Adigozalov, said at a press conference on the agency's activities for the past year and the upcoming tasks that 40 residents are operating in Sumgayit Industrial Park, which is recognized as the largest industrial park in the South Caucasus. "In 2025, the park recorded sales of products totaling 2.2 billion manat ($1.3 billion), with exports contributing 1.1 billion manat ($650 million) to that figure.
These metrics unequivocally highlight the park's pivotal position in the broader industrial landscape and its contributions to non-oil export dynamics," he remarked. Adigozalov highlighted that in general, industrial zones overseen by the Economic Zones Development Agency play an important role in strengthening the country's industrial potential. According to him, by the close of 2025, 138 residents and 13 non-residents were registered in the industrial zones.
