More than 55 million tons of cargo have been loaded and unloaded in Iran's southern and northern ports since February 28 (the beginning date of the military conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran). What is important is that new record figures have been recorded in the field of unloading, loading, and leaving ports from ships during this period," he explained. Shakibinasab noted that valuable steps have been taken in the field of providing citizens with the necessary means, as well as raw materials, taking into account previously prepared plans and various scenarios. The deputy minister said that one of the important steps taken was the establishment of a headquarters to accelerate and facilitate the release of cargo from ports.
This headquarters was organized under the leadership of Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, and in cooperation with relevant agencies. Shakibinasab pointed out that as a result of the coordination, the release of cargo was carried out in the shortest possible time. If any problem arose, it was resolved in the shortest possible time.
"The country's ports have achieved great success during the mentioned period. The entire potential of the country's ports has been activated, and this potential is being used," he mentioned. Shakibinasab added that as for the final status of the container ships in neighboring countries belonging to Iranian businessmen, the majority of these containers have been loaded and brought to the country and unloaded.
Conditions will be created for the remaining container ships to arrive in the country through economic diplomacy. With the ongoing coordination, the container ships will be brought to the country, and the cargo owners will be able to receive their cargo. Iran has imposed restrictions on the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, citing military attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran.
