The 4-0 San Francisco 49ers haven't been immune to the NFL injury bug this season, although they've been able to overcome many absences on their roster. It sounds like the 49ers will be without two of their defensive stars on Sunday when facing the Seattle Seahawks. Defensive end Nick Bosa is set to miss his third straight game as he continues to deal with a calf injury.
The team knew he would miss a few weeks, but opted not to place him on the injured reserve list in order to keep spots open—if that tells you anything about the unfortunate injury situation the 49ers find themselves in. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk will miss his first game of the season after he hyperextended his knee last Sunday during the victory over the Denver Broncos. His MRI revealed a sprain and a bone bruise, so he's expected to miss two to three games.
Defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. and safety Marques Sigle will also both miss Sunday's game against the Seahawks. The 49ers had good injury news on Friday, too, when the team's injury report released. Wide receiver Mike Evans will play again on Sunday as he deals with a rib injury.
The veteran player was carted off the field in Week 3 because of the injury. He didn't practice on Thursday, but was limited on Friday and has no injury designation for Sunday. Tackle Trent Williams will also be good to go for Sunday's game after he left Week 3's contest early with a neck stinger.
He played in last weekend's game, so it isn't a surprise that he's available again this week.
