The journalist behind an upcoming interview with Lindsay Clancy’s ex-husband has said the grieving father wanted to “put the spotlight” on his children amid the controversy that has surrounded the closely watched case. Lindsay Clancy, a 36-year-old former labor and delivery nurse, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her children—Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan—at the family's Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. She pleaded not guilty and her defense attorney argued that postpartum psychosis had left her not criminally responsible for their deaths.

The 12 jurors deliberated for seven days but failed to reach a unanimous verdict, leading Judge William Sullivan to declare a mistrial. Her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, has given an interview to CBS News' 60 Minutes, which is due to air Sunday. Speaking on CBS Evening News on Friday, 60 Minutes correspondent Ross Douthat told viewers what to expect from the broadcast.
