Anne Hathaway has announced yet another film project, prompting her fans to wonder the same thing. Hathaway, 43, has had a busy year starring in Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, and The End of Oak Street. She’s also starring in Verity, the latest film adaptation from author Colleen Hoover, which is slated for an October release.
Now, Hathaway has added another project to her slate: a Days of Thunder follow-up film alongside Tom Cruise. Nearly 40 years after the original film was released, Hathaway and Cruise will film a sequel, which will be released in June 2028. The duo shared the news Saturday in a joint Instagram announcement that has prompted Hathaway’s fans to ask the same question.

Hathaway will play a racecar team owner and engineer. Jonathan Levine will direct, and Cruise will produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper. In addition to Cruise, the original Days of Thunder starred Nicole Kidman, Robert Duvall, Randy Quaid and John C.
