Hit video games “ARC Raiders” and “The Finals” are both getting adapted for TV and film in new projects set up with Chernin Entertainment and Nexon-owned video game developer Embark Studios. The North Road Company’s Chernin Entertainment film and TV division was chosen among several production companies and studios competing for the rights for the projects. It has now been set as the lead producer on the “ARC Raiders” and “The Finals” TV series and movies.

Since launching in October 2025, “ARC Raiders” has sold more than 16 million copies worldwide. The game was named best multiplayer game at the 2025 Game Awards and online game of the year at the 29th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, and it received the best multiplayer award at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards.

The largest “ARC Raiders” content update to date, “Frozen Trail,” debuts Wednesday, Oct. 7. Players compete for fame and fortune in destructible arenas modeled after real-world locations like Monaco and Las Vegas. The unscripted game features gameplay with “physics-driven environmental destruction.” “The Finals” Season 12 update will release Oct. 20.

Throughout the process, the creative teams at Embark Studios will work closely with Chernin to ensure the creativity that defines both of these properties extends into all-new formats.” “‘ARC Raiders’ and ‘The Finals’ are exactly the kind of opportunities we’ve been building towards at Chernin Entertainment: ambitious global IP with the potential to become major franchises across film and television,” said David Ready, president of film at Chernin Entertainment. We’re honored they’ve trusted us to unite our film and television teams to tell those stories.” Recent Chernin Entertainment hits on the film side include “Backrooms,” which grossed over $400 million worldwide on a $10 million budget, and Netflix’s “The Last House.” Television projects include the Apple TV series “Chief of War,” “Truth Be Told” and “See,” and Netflix’s “The Madness” and “Man on Fire.”
