An arrest warrant has been issued for the Green Party's former presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein following a failed court appearance related to a 2024 assault charge. The case had a hearing on Monday at 9 a.m.
Neither Stein nor her attorney attended, though prosecutors were in attendance. Louis Judge Karma Johnson said of Stein’s absence, “There will be a failure to appear warrant for Ms. The charges stem from a protest at Washington University in April of 2024, over the war in Gaza.
Over 100 arrests were made when police broke up the protest, but only two charges were made – Stein and one other individual. Stein was charged in March 2025 and faced misdemeanors for assault and trespass. Newsweek has contacted Stein for comment via email outside of standard business hours.
