Japan abolished the statute of limitations for heinous crimes, such as murder, in 2010, but the changes do not cover attempted murder.
NAGOYA – A man who survived an attempted murder in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, in 2002 and his wife are advocating for the statute of limitations to be removed on such crimes. The country abolished the statute of limitations for heinous crimes, such as murder, through law amendments in 2010. Such revisions do not cover attempted murder, however.
