Police are searching for who was responsible for the shooting Wednesday night.

Seven people, including a 3-year-old boy, were shot in an East Baltimore neighborhood Wednesday night, officials said, as police continue searching for the person or people responsible. The victims were all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to WBAL-TV. Their current conditions were not immediately available.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots at an intersection near East Fayette Street around 9 p.m. local time. The department is reviewing camera footage as investigators work to determine details about a suspect(s). A motive remains unclear.

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott strongly condemned the person or people behind the violence, saying “every single soul” in the city is going to ask who was responsible. Everybody in the godd*** city should be looking for you.” Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley told WBAL-TV that there is no ongoing threat to the public. When asked about a motive, Worley said, "It appears that all the gunfire was shot in one direction.” Newsweek reached out to the Baltimore Police Department via email late Wednesday night.
