Joe Burrow is entering his seventh NFL season as a 29-year-old quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals. Last year, Burrow made some public comments that sparked questions regarding his long-term NFL future. But during a recent interview with Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, he officially put those retirement rumors to rest.
What the hell else would I do?' I used to want to go and maybe play a different sport after a couple of Super Bowls, but now I’m like, I’m just going to play until I can’t," Burrow replied. Burrow led the NFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns through the 2024 season. But after suffering a Grade 3 turf toe injury early in 2025, he missed about half of the season.
Through his eight starts last year, he completed 66.8% of his pass attempts for 1,809 yards, 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. The Bengals will open up their 2026 season with a Week 1 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 13.
