Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase Joins Elite NFL Group With Milestone TD vs Titans

Bengals star receiver Ja'Marr Chase joined an exclusive group of NFL legends with a milestone touchdown against the Titans.

Ja'Marr Chase continues to have an impact on the Cincinnati Bengals offense and was an early force in their Week 8 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. With the Bengals trailing 13-0 in the first half, quarterback Joe Burrow scrambled to get away from the defense, then delivered a precisely placed 30-yard pass to Chase in the end zone. That cut Tennessee's lead before the home team could go up by three scores.

It was also a milestone touchdown for Chase, putting him into an elite group of receivers in NFL history. According to ESPN Insights, Chase joined Randy Moss and Rob Gronkowski as the only players in NFL history to record 60 receiving touchdowns before turning 27. In addition, Novig noted in an X post that only Jerry Rice, Gronkowski, Moss, and Chase have recorded 60-plus receiving touchdowns through their first 85 career games in the Super Bowl era.

Rice and Gronkowski have won Super Bowls and also benefited from playing alongside legendary quarterbacks. Rice caught many touchdowns from Joe Montana, and Gronk got many of his from Tom Brady.

Some fans and analysts believe this could be the Cincinnati Bengals' season to reach the Super Bowl, as they have a healthy Joe Burrow playing quarterback and a dangerous receiving corps featuring Chase, Tee Higgins, and tight ends Mike Gesicki and Jack Endries. In Sunday's game, Endries also aided the Bengals' first-half comeback effort, scoring a touchdown in the second quarter to help Cincinnati take a 14-13 lead into halftime. So far this season, Chase has scored five touchdowns and shows no signs of slowing down.

Before the season, he told NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe he had his sights set on the single-season receiving touchdowns record. Moss currently owns that record, having caught 23 receiving touchdowns in one season, when he was playing for the New England Patriots with Tom Brady. However, Chase also has a quarterback very capable of delivering some impressive strikes down the field, like the one thrown to him today from Burrow.
