The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing for a Week 9 international matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Madrid, Spain on Sunday. This matchup features two of the top-five picks from the 2021 NFL Draft: Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts and Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase. The Falcons selected Pitts with the No. 4 overall pick, one pick ahead of Chase at No. 5.
When speaking to reporters on Friday, Chase was asked if that draft decision means anything to him entering Sunday's Bengals-Falcons clash. "No, I think what happened to me was the best decision of my life. I've never regretted not one part of me being drafted," Chase replied.
After the Bengals selected Chase with their No. 5 overall pick in the draft, he quickly blossomed into one of the league's best wide receiver weapons. Meanwhile, the Falcons have struggled to get that same value out of Pitts. Chase has 7,329 yards and 60 touchdowns on 563 catches through the first 85 games of his NFL career.
Through 86 game appearances, Pitts has 306 catches for 3,776 yards and 19 touchdowns. Sunday's game will kick off at 9:30 a.m.
