Big Brother has big plans for the upcoming 30th season in 2028, and apparently they include increasing the cash prize...by a lot. A CBS source tells The Sun that “Season 29 will be back to newbies. They might throw one vet in there to shake things up but otherwise will be new people.
Season 30, however, they plan on going all out like CBS did with Survivor 50. It will be an all-star season with some of the most iconic vets of the game.” So, how much will the winner of Big Brother Season 30 take home? The insider says, “The budget will be bigger and they want to increase the prize money too to $1 million.
They want it to be the biggest season of Big Brother yet.” The current cash prize on Big Brother is $750,000, though the winner only takes home a fraction of that due to state and federal taxes. The Sun crunched the exact numbers and reported that Season 28 winner Rick Devens will keep approximately $400,000 of his prize, though he also won favorite player, which is another $50,000, pre-tax. It’s unclear whether the second and third place prizes will also be increased for Big Brother Season 30, but currently the second-place winner gets $75,000, while third-place takes home $10,000 (again, pre-tax!).
