Bills Part Ways With Two-Time Super Bowl Champion

The Buffalo Bills are moving on from one of their most successful players.

The Buffalo Bills are looking to finally get the monkey off their back this season and reach their Super Bowl aspirations. However, they will be doing so without a player who has already won two rings himself. The team announced on Monday that it is releasing two-time Super Bowl champion outside linebacker Mike Danna amongst a flurry of moves.

Danna, 28, joined the Bills on a one-year contract in May, but he hasn't recorded a statistic all season. It turns out that will remain the case as his time in Buffalo has now come to an end. Danna had spent the past six years of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs, who he won Super Bowls LVII and LVIII with.

During that span, he racked up 194 tackles, 21.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, six passes defensed and one interception. It remains to be seen why things didn't work out for Danna in Buffalo, but it's safe to assume another team will be interested in bringing in a highly experienced and successful player like Danna. Danna began his professional career as a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Michigan, where he had 38 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble in 2019.

He also played college ball at Central Michigan. From 2015-18, he recorded another 151 tackles, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, and one pass defensed while earning first-team All-MAC honors in 2018.
