Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen firmly pushed back against questions about his health following Sunday's loss.

The Buffalo Bills suffered their first loss of the 2026 NFL season this past Sunday, falling to the New England Patriots with a 29-26 final score at home. Quarterback Josh Allen completed 23 of his 33 pass attempts for 253 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the loss. But perhaps more notably, he had just four rushing yards on five carries.

Allen had at least 20 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in each of his prior three games, including 69 rushing yards in a Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions. Allen took a hit on his left knee in the fourth quarter of Week 3's win over the Los Angeles Chargers. When speaking with reporters on Thursday, the superstar quarterback was asked if his lack of rushing production against the Patriots had anything to do with that injury.

Feeling great," Allen replied. Instead, Allen chalked his lack of rushing up to the Patriots' defensive scheme. "They had a good plan keeping me rallied in the pocket," he said.

"If anything, they were forcing me to go left. It was just kind of the situation of [how] the game was going.” Allen and the Bills will look to bounce back in Monday's Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
