The Buffalo Bills lost their most recent game to the New England Patriots by a 29-26 final score but still have a 3-1 record. With the way the Bills have started the season, they should be among the league's top buyers ahead of the trade deadline. One of their biggest needs is another impactful wide receiver.
Due to this, the Bills are being connected to an interesting wide receiver from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Brad Gagnon urged the Bills to trade for longtime Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin. "He might be running out of gas but is still on pace to catch 68 passes in an otherwise unproductive offense this season," Gagnon wrote about Godwin.
"If the Bills continue to run into injury issues in the receiving corps, this would be a nice veteran pickup who would help a lot as a blocker as well." With the Bills needing another wide receiver, it would make sense for them to pursue a veteran like Godwin. The 10-year NFL veteran would provide them with another solid receiver, and he could benefit from playing with a superstar quarterback like Josh Allen. In five games so far this season with the Buccaneers, Godwin has 19 receptions and 179 receiving yards.
This is after he had two touchdowns, 33 receptions, and 360 receiving yards in nine games for Tampa Bay last season. With numbers like these, he would be a good depth pickup for Buffalo. Let's see if they target him from here.
