Baldwin has a long-running feud with co-star Sharon Stone dating back to their 1993 film ‘Sliver’

Billy Baldwin has said he “never” wants to work with his former co-star Sharon Stone again. The two actors have been at odds ever since they worked together in the 1993 erotic thriller Sliver. Baldwin, 63, opened up about the origin of their feud during a recent appearance on Lisa Guerrero’s podcast, saying the “tension” between the pair left “everybody miserable.” He recalled that “we got along pretty well the first couple weeks,” but that subsequently “she wouldn’t say ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’ to me for the next three months.” Baldwin claims that model and photographer Janice Dickinson told him Stone said following their screen test: “I’m going to make him fall so hard for me it’s going to make his f***ing head spin.” Dickinson has previously denied this story.

Baldwin implied that Stone was disappointed not to be able to turn Baldwin’s head, as at that point he had been in a relationship with singer Chynna Phillips of Wilson Phillips for 18 months. Baldwin and Phillips married in 1995 and are still together over three decades later. Baldwin claims he refused to kiss Stone during the film’s climactic love scenes, after initially asking not to shoot the scenes at all.

He says he told producers: “I can do the scene but just please don’t make me kiss her… I can’t kiss her.” He also returned to the subject of Stone’s claim that producer Robert Evans told her to sleep with Baldwin to “save the movie”. Back in 2024, the Basic Instinct star said the infamous producer of The Godfather reasoned: “If I could sleep with Billy, then we would have chemistry on-screen, and if I would just have sex with him then that would save the movie.” New subscribers only. £9.99/mo. after free trial. Does she still have a crush on me or is she still hurt after all these years because I shunned her advances?” In the new podcast appearance, Baldwin claimed Evans “said the same thing to me” when the producer told him: “I keep getting reports that there’s incredibly bad tension...

We know what it’s all about. There’s all this pent-up sexual energy tension between the two of you. Just do it and get it over with.

Unleash the horses and let’s see what happens on screen.” Despite his unhappiness with his former co-star, Baldwin went on to add: “After everything I’ve said, I would love to bury the hatchet. I would love to see Sharon Stone and shake her hand, and give her a hug.” Join thought-provoking conversations, follow other Independent readers and see their replies
