Organizers for Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival have announced that the festival will be taking a “much-needed” year off in 2027. The annual festival, which takes place in Manchester, TN, has been plagued by severe weather over the past couple of years, leading to its cancelation in 2025 just a day after it started. In a post on its socials, Bonnaroo organizers explained that the extreme conditions are the root cause of needing to take a break in 2027 so that the campgrounds can recover.
With limited time to recuperate from back to back years of storms, including the heavy rainstorm on Sunday this year, The Farm, particularly the main venue, needs a break to rest and recover.” Organizers said “this wasn’t an easy decision, and not one we take lightly, but in our hearts, we know this break will only make Bonnaroo better.” Bonnaroo has been canceled several times over the past few years, first in 2020 after it was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic before inevitably being canceled. The following year, it was called off due to rainfall, and in 2025, Bonnaroo had a strong start on its first day before organizers ultimately canceled the rest of the festival due to weather. Bonnaroo 2026 took place from June 11-14, featuring headlining sets from the Strokes, Noah Kahan, Kehsa, Role Model and more.
