By Sunday, the supernatural horror romp is expected to pull in $23.7 million for Blumhouse and Sony. The latest “Insidious” is coming in below its predecessor, 2023’s “The Red Door,” which opened to $33 million. Cast members include Lin Shaye, Amelia Eve, Island Austin, Sam Spruell, Joseph Lopez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Brandon Perea.
This weekend’s other major newcomer, “Mutiny,” landed in fourth place on Friday after earning $2.8 million from 2,703 screens. The Jason Statham vehicle is targeting a $7.4 million opening, which is below similar titles like 2024’s “The Beekeeper” ($16.5 million) and 2025’s “A Working Man” ($15 million), but above “Shelter” ($5.2 million), which released earlier in 2026. Statham leads “Mutiny” as Cole Reed, a grizzled special-ops agent who must stop an international conspiracy aboard a cargo ship.
Jean-François Richet directs. Other cast members include Chaneil Kular, Annabelle Wallis, Ramon Tikaram, Jason Wong and Simon Kluth. That’s a roughly 47% decline from last weekend’s revenues.
The Marvel-Sony tent-pole should hit a domestic total of about $852 million by Sunday. That would push the North American haul for Chris Nolan’s epic to $538 million. Finally, in fifth place was “The End of Oak Street,” which earned an estimated $2.2 million domestically on Friday.
Rival estimates have the prehistoric thriller making $8 million through its sophomore weekend (a 62% drop), pushing its North American total to about $37 million.
