TIME and Statista have launched the 2026 list of Best Employers, based on independent employee surveys conducted in countries around the world. In Brazil, Statista gathered 900,000 evaluations from employees across a wide range of sectors. These surveys asked open-ended questions about employees’ willingness to recommend their own employer and their willingness to recommend other employers in the same industry.
The top 500 employers, ranked based on these results, were named Brazil's Best Employers 2026. Microsoft, like in 2025, is once again the country’s top employer. The company has had a decades-long presence in the country and invested billions in AI infrastructure and related skills training in Brazil, the leading economy in Latin America.
This year, the top four employers in Brazil are all U.S. tech companies, including SAP, Alphabet, and IBM. In the past year or so, Brazil has drawn interest from a growing number of global tech companies as it positions itself as a hub for sustainable data centers, with national policies offering tax breaks and clean energy for powering these facilities. In fact, the government, along with Brazil’s largest banks, has been shaping the tech sector in Brazil for the last decade by spending billions on digital services like software licensing and cybersecurity from foreign companies, according to a 2025 study by researchers at the University of São Paulo, the University of Brasília, and Fundação Getúlio Vargas—a move some critics say undermines Brazil’s tech sovereignty and diverts investment from domestic solutions.
At the same time, many of these tech companies, like Microsoft and IBM, have been providing accessible professional certificate programs to workers across the globe in hopes of closing the skills gap. The top-ranked Brazil-based employer is accounting firm Contabilizei (no. 5), which specializes in helping small businesses and entrepreneurs with financial services from managing expenses and invoices to taxes. As the number of new small businesses in the country continues to grow, and more people flock to digital banks, innovative fintechs like Contabilizei have an opportunity to become a key part of that domestic economic ecosystem.
