Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has failed to meet expectations to this point in the 2026 NFL season. The Broncos have been forced to lean heavily on their defensive unit over the last two weeks, as Nix failed to throw for more than 125 passing yards in wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and Seattle Seahawks. The third-year signal caller has been unable to push the ball down the field, averaging a measly 6.3 yards per target through the first six weeks of the year.
Nix's lack of production has resulted in some rough numbers for Denver's pass catchers, including veteran wide receiver Courtland Sutton — who has just 13 catches for 123 yards and one touchdown so far. That being said, Sutton is still confident in Nix as his quarterback leader. "People can say what they want to say and feel how they want to feel, and they're entitled to that.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion," Sutton said. "At some point the tide is going to turn and everyone is going to be 'Oh man, Bo Nix is the best.' Nah, keep that same energy." Nix is doing everything he can to turn things around as the Broncos push on in their 2026 campaign. "I’ve looked at my preparation," Nix said, via BroncosWire.
"I’ve looked at my process, and I’ve tried to see anything that can be moved around or be changed so that I can overcome and just figure out ways to put us in a better spot." The 4-2 Broncos will face off against the Arizona Cardinals in a Week 7 matchup on Sunday.
