Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians recently opened up about Antonio Brown's infamous walk-off moment.

Antonio Brown's NFL career came to an end in the middle of a game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets in Week 17 of the 2021 season. Brown infamously stripped off his uniform, tossed some of his gear into the crowd and pumped up the fans at MetLife Stadium before exiting the the field. He was subsequently cut from the team, effectively ending his football career.

During an appearance on Cam Heyward's "Not Just Football" podcast, former Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians revealed what really went down before this infamous moment. "That was probably my fault. Mike [Evans] got hurts, Chris [Godwin] got hurt. [Brown] got like 12 or 13 targets the week before — thought we'd tear the Jets up," Arians explained.

"Well, they double teamed him the whole time. So [Rob Gronkowski] was getting the balls in the middle and [Brown] got upset at halftime and said he wasn't going back in. "I told him to get the hell out of here and he took it literally.

Nobody works harder on the practice field than AB. Nobody plays harder than AB. It's just sometimes, he gets in his own way." In a lengthy public statement following his walk-off, Brown claimed that the Buccaneers were trying to make him play on an injured ankle.

Arians denied those claims.
