Like many fans, Caitlin Clark is excited about the start of the 2026 NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos will close out Week 1 of NFL action with a primetime "Monday Night Football" matchup later this evening. And on Monday morning, Clark posted an excited message about her beloved Chiefs team.
GOOD LUCK!!!! @Chiefs," Clark wrote on X. Clark, who grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, is a life-long Chiefs fan. The Indiana Fever's superstar point guard has been very vocal about her NFL allegiance throughout her highly-publicized WNBA career.
"I had family in Kansas City, and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City," Clark said during an appearance on the "New Heights" podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce. "So that's just the closest NFL team; my dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up. People think I'm like a bandwagon Chiefs fan, I'm like, 'No, I was there before Patrick [Mahomes] and Travis.' We were ride or dies, so we've been big fans." Clark and Team USA just claimed gold at the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup with a 97-79 final score over France in the championship game.
Her Fever squad currently sits No. 5 in the WNBA standings with a 26-14 record. The Chiefs will kick off against the Broncos at 8:15 p.m.
