Dragon's Dogma 2 and Delicious in Dungeon have a lot in common beyond just having alliterative names that evoke Dungeons & Dragons. Capcom's action RPG and the delightful fantasy anime about adventurers cooking monsters both revel in the quiet moments of the typical adventure story. Since Capcom released Dragon's Dogma 2 in 2024, I've been shouting about how the two are perfect companion pieces.
Now, we're finally getting a collaborative event that officially brings them together. Capcom announced the Delicious in Dungeon x Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen collaboration with a trailer that shows off all the new treats it adds to the game. The biggest addition is two Official Pawns for Laios and Marcille, a couple of the anime's main stars.
Pawns are basically NPC party members that you get to drag across the game world on adventures, something that both will be familiar with after their own mishaps in the anime's titular dungeon. Players will also automatically receive two free armor sets themed after the characters when the event begins. The collaboration will only last for a limited time.
For PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players, the event begins today, Nov. 4, and runs until Jan. 28, 2027. Switch 2 players will have to wait till Nov. 12 to join in on the fun, but it will still end on the same date. Despite the collaboration's name, you don't actually need the Dark Arisen edition of the RPG to claim the rewards, as it will also be available in the base game.
Netflix's adaptation of Ryoko Kui's hit manga aired its first season in 2024 across two cours (batches of 12 episodes). Season 2 is set to premiere in October 2027, which is an achingly long way away. That's what makes the Dragon's Dogma 2 collaboration perfect for fans of both the game and the anime.
The joy of Dragon's Dogma 2 is the long, meandering journey the game requires players to undertake, even for the simplest quests. Preparation is key in Capcom's RPG; this includes many in‑game nights spent camping and cooking meals. That's basically the same plot as Delicious in Dungeon, which follows a group of adventurers who cook the various monsters they encounter in their adventure to sustain themselves.
