Louis Cardinals are going to be without one of their notable pitchers for the next little bit at least. The Cardinals have announced that they have placed pitcher Andre Pallante on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation. In addition, the Cardinals shared that pitcher Ryan Fernandez has been called up from Triple-A Memphis.
With the Cardinals currently fighting to climb up the NL wild card standings, there is no question that Pallante being sidelined is concerning. They will be hoping that he will be able to return to the mound as soon as this stint on the 15-day injured list passes. Pallante has been in the middle of a very solid season for the Cardinals in 2026.
In 24 appearances so far this campaign, the 6-foot righty has posted a 12-6 record, a 3.57 ERA, and 97 strikeouts. With numbers like these, he has been an important part of the Cardinals' starting rotation this season. In 193 career MLB games over five seasons with the Cardinals, Pallante has posted a 36-35 record, a 4.15 ERA, and 418 strikeouts.
