Over the past several days, several of the best quarterbacks in college football finally began their seasons, including Texas's Arch Manning, Oregon's Dante Moore, and Notre Dame's CJ Carr. All of them have a chance to have standout seasons and become high picks in the NFL. However, Colin Cowherd believes another quarterback is better than those three players, as he recently revealed on his weekly "The Colin Cowherd Podcast." "I can't believe there's a better quarterback than Darian Mensah," he said of the Miami Hurricanes QB.
"You can tell me about CJ Carr, Arch Manning, LaNorris Sellers, Dante Moore. Mensah's about as good of a college quarterback as you're gonna get." Cowherd said what he loves most about Mensah is his story, mentioning that he played high school football somewhere "that doesn't get a lot of pub. He said Mensah experienced the same situation when playing for Tulane and then Duke.

On Friday night, Mensah got off to a great start against Stanford. In a 45-6 victory, he completed 27 of 30 passes for 401 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receiver Malachi Toney was his top connection, with 234 yards and three touchdowns.
Mensah is the Hurricanes' new starter after last year's QB1, Carson Beck, left for the NFL. A highlight reel of his dazzling debut performance against Stanford, which also featured zero interceptions, surfaced on X. To only have three incomplete passes is certainly a thing of beauty, and Mensah had an impressive showing, finding his receivers with confidence and ease throughout the game.
He withstood defensive pressure and maintained his poise in what was a stellar debut. However, many fans have suggested that Miami's season-opening opponent wasn't the strongest, and therefore Mensah has yet to be truly tested. He'll certainly face some stiffer competition in the season ahead, which could expose his weaknesses or prove Cowherd's point about how great he is.
