The Washington Commanders have one of the more exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL in Jayden Daniels. The problem is their top two receivers — Terry McLaurin, 30, and Stefon Diggs, 32 — are both aging veterans. Aside from 2026 third-round pick Antonio Williams, who many project as a solid WR2, the team doesn’t have a young stud wideout who can grow and develop alongside Daniels, which is why the Bleacher Report scouting department believes Washington will target one of the top pass-catchers in the 2027 draft class: Indiana’s Nick Marsh.
He logged 100 catches for 1,311 yards and nine touchdowns across 23 games, but he failed to live up to the hype he had when he arrived at East Lansing. However, Marsh is heading into a much better situation now with the reigning national champions and two-time AP Coach of the Year Curt Cignetti. He’ll be catching passes from quarterback Josh Hoover, who had back-to-back seasons with 3,400 or more yards passing and 27 or more touchdowns at TCU, and he’ll see a high volume of targets with both of the Hoosiers’ top two receivers last year — Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt — now in the NFL.
Diggs is only signed to a one-year deal. The Commanders could have him fill their WR2 role in 2026 before having him pass the torch to Marsh in 2027.
