Prescott completed a 24-yard touchdown pass to teammate CeeDee Lamb in the game's fourth quarter to move into the top spot on the franchise's all-time list. Below Prescott and Romo are Cowboys legends Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach, who have fewer TDs in their careers but won Super Bowl rings.
The Cowboys' current quarterback now has 249 passing touchdowns, achieving the total in 141 games. He said he was "blessed, honored" to break the record, and based on his postgame comments, he's nowhere near done. "This is my time to break this one.
Pretty cool to do it against the team I threw my first touchdown against 10 years ago or so. Definitely humbling, something I don't take for granted. The great history of this organization, of the past quarterbacks before me," he told reporters.

Prescott is currently in his 11th season with the Cowboys, after becoming the team's fourth-round pick in 2016. He not only leads all-time in passing touchdowns but also in all-time passing yards. To double his total, it could mean he has to play another eight seasons in the league, or seriously increase his touchdowns thrown in his upcoming seasons.
Injuries and other health issues are always a concern in the extremely physical game of football. Prescott is 33 and would need to stay healthy for his career and continue to have star receivers on the roster, like Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson, to pass to. Prescott signed a four-year, $240 million contract in September 2024 to remain with Dallas through the 2028 NFL season.
