New Dallas Cowboys cornerback Joey Porter Jr. has struggled to stay on the field this season, and he popped up on the injury report once again this week with an ankle injury. So, can Cowboys fans expect to see Porter back on the field in Week 6? According to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Porter, who is listed as questionable with the ankle injury, is expected to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
That is certainly great news for the Cowboys, who currently sit in third place in the NFC East with a 2-3 record. Porter missed the first three games of the regular season amid a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers and then played 24 snaps in the Cowboys' Week 4 win over the Houston Texans. But it's safe to say the Cowboys are itching to get him more involved, given their investment in him.
The Cowboys traded a 2028 second-round pick and a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick to the Steelers in exchange for Porter. The No. 32 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Porter has recorded 165 tackles, one sack, 31 passes defensed and three interceptions in his professional career.
