Supporters of a losing Republican Senate candidate have booed Donald Trump during his concession speech. Ralph Norman had been defeated in South Carolina’s U.S. Senate runoff that same day - beaten in the Republican primary by Senator Darline Graham, the sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. Trump had thrown his weight behind Graham, although that failed to give Graham enough of an edge to avoid a run-off. During his concession speech, Norman said that the Democratic Party had gotten what they wanted with Graham’s victory and mentioned Trump’s name, prompting boos from the crowd. “Democrats, they got what they wanted,” Norman said.

That’s his prerogative.” Despite the crowd’s response, Norman continued to mention Trump and expressed confusion over the president’s choice to weigh in on the race. “Well y’all, his policies are good,” he said.
