The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, failing to score a single point in the final two quarters as the Rams overcame a 10-20 halftime deficit. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense had an opportunity to put the game away with a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but they failed to convert on four attempts from inside the 10-yard line. The team put up a historically-bad performance on 3rd down, going 0/12 on attempts throughout the game.
During Monday morning's episode of "First Take," ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky said the Eagles have the worst short-yardage offense in the NFL. "This is the worst short-yardage offense in the NFL right now," Orlovsky said. The Eagles' offense is operating under first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, who many hoped would revive the unit following last season's down year under Kevin Patullo.
But now four weeks into their 2026 campaign, the Philadelphia offense ranks near the bottom of the league in both total yards (269.8) and points (18.8) per game. The Eagles will look to get back on track in a Week 5 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this coming Sunday.
