Dancing With the Stars has featured a lot of real-life couples (pros and pros, pros and celebs, romance is everywhere in the ballroom), but Witney Carson’s husband? Couldn’t be less connected to the dance world. Witney’s married to mechanical engineer Carson McAllister, who you might recognize from the DWTS audience, where he’s often spotted supporting her with their kids.
These two have been going strong foreverrrr, and we’re taking a look back at their romantic love story. Witney and Carson have been together since they were high schoolers in American Fork, Utah. Back in 2016, Carson told People “She was my dream girl since 7th grade, But she didn’t know I existed until senior year.
We became really close friends and kinda started dating. From the second I got to know her, I could tell she was the most loving and understanding girl I’d ever met.” Here’s Witney chatting about their very first date, during which Carson’s car broke down on the side of a mountain. Don’t worry, there’s a picture chronicling this fated night: Witney and Carson did a few years of long distance after graduating from high school, when Carson went on a church mission and Witney started dancing on reality TV.
But they reconnected upon Carson’s return, and have been going strong since. Witney and Carson then got married a year later, and Witney’s fellow Dancing With the Stars pros were her bridesmaids—including Emma Slater, Lindsay Arnold, Brittany Cherry, and Jenna Johnson. Kevin Leo McAllister was born in 2021 and was followed by Jet Carson McAllister in 2023. The couple are currently expecting their third baby, another boy! And no, Carson isn’t planning to take Witney’s name and become “Carson Carson,” though we can all agree that would be amazing.
