Lionsgate has released a trailer for “Day Drinker,” the Marc Webb-directed thriller starring Johnny Depp, Madelyn Cline and Penélope Cruz. The film will hit theaters on March 26, 2027. The official logline adds: “They soon find themselves entangled with a criminal figure (Cruz) and connected in ways no one saw coming.” In the eerie trailer, audiences get a glimpse of a grey-haired Depp, who says, ominously: “My story?
Perhaps it’s a tale of revenge. Or perhaps something worse. What if all of this is a ghost story?
Or maybe I’m just another day drinker?” The film will be one of the first Hollywood-supported movies to bring Depp back to the big screen after his 2022 trial against ex-wife Amber Heard; his other film, Paramount’s “Ebenezer,” will be in theaters on Nov. 13. Season 1 premiered in 2020, and the show concluded with Season 5 in August.
