Amid speculation that this is a make-or-break season in college football for head coach Deion Sanders, his Colorado Buffaloes got things off to a successful start with a 14-13 upset win over Georgia Tech. After the huge victory, Sanders left the field with his son, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who played quarterback for Colorado several seasons ago. Coach Prime became emotional as he told reporters about the special moment after the game.
"You trying to make me cry. Sometimes, you know what y'all forget? I think y'all forget that.
Y'all see a coach ... you see someone who has dabbled with success in certain areas of life, someone who has made a multitude of mistakes as well, but y'all forget: I'm a real, loving, caring father," Sanders said. "And that's my son man, and I feel him. ... For him to get out of practice and make it to this game and I think he's gonna fly back with us because he wanna spend a couple of days with his dad.

The Buffaloes won their road game against Georgia Tech in thrilling fashion. The Yellow Jackets held a 10-7 lead through the game's third quarter, but Colorado freshman quarterback Julian "JuJu" Lewis threw a 20-yard touchdown to tight end Charlie Williams to get the lead in the fourth. Georgia Tech had a chance to win in the game's final moments, but Colorado blocked their 45-yard field goal attempt.
