Art fairs in Japan can be intimidating to the uninitiated, but they provide a unique window into the art world. Usually bringing together hundreds of artists and galleries in one place, art fairs remove the distance, making viewing and comparing various artworks possible. Beyond bridging spaces, they also offer an array of styles and mediums, from pop art to traditional pottery.
