Just two months after Dolly Parton’s death, fans will have another opportunity to celebrate the country music legend’s extraordinary catalog. Fever’s popular Candlelight concert series is bringing a tribute to Parton to the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey on Oct. 30, featuring classical arrangements of some of her best-known songs performed by a live string quartet.

Fever is also putting an another tribute concert at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on Dec. 4. The concert comes amid an outpouring of tributes to the Grammy-winning singer, who died Aug. 25 following a brief battle with cancer. The hour-long performance will revisit her legacy through instrumental renditions of songs including “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You,” the latter of which became an even bigger pop phenomenon after Whitney Houston recorded it for 1992’s “The Bodyguard.” Orchid Quartet will lead the evening’s performance, with a tentative 15-song setlist that also includes “Islands in the Stream,” Parton’s chart-topping duet with Kenny Rogers; “Wildflowers,” which she recorded alongside Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris for their 1987 album “Trio”; and early-career selections such as “Dumb Blonde” and “Just Because I’m a Woman.” Other songs on the program include “Here You Come Again,” “Two Doors Down,” “My Tennessee Mountain Home” and “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.” The performance will take place in the Ritz-Carlton’s grand ballroom, where hundreds of flickering electric candles will surround the musicians.

The intimate setting is a departure from the elaborate costumes, rhinestones and larger-than-life stage productions for which Parton’s live performances became known. The Los Angeles concert arrives amid a wave of musical tributes to Parton. Over the weekend, Miley Cyrus honored her late godmother during an emotional performance at the Hollywood Bowl, where she performed “Jolene” and reflected on their decades-long relationship.

The singer has been among the many artists celebrating Parton’s influence since her death, which prompted tributes from across the music and entertainment industries. Fever’s Candlelight series has built a global business around reimagining familiar catalogs through classical instrumentation, with previous programs celebrating everyone from the Beatles and Fleetwood Mac to Adele, Taylor Swift and Hans Zimmer. The concerts are typically staged in unconventional venues, including historic churches, museums and luxury hotels.

Unlike an official estate production, the Dolly Parton concert is an independently organized tribute and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the singer’s estate. Tickets are available now through Fever.
