The Philadelphia Eagles found themselves on the wrong side of one of the most surprising results in the NFL in Week 3, losing in emphatic fashion against the Chicago Bears led by third-string quarterback Case Keenum. As a result, the Eagles announced a significant move on defense following Monday's loss. Case Keenum had no issues picking apart the typically strong Eagles defense on Monday night, throwing for 247 yards and two touchdowns in a dominant 27-7 victory.
The Eagles' lifeless offense certainly did the Eagles defense no favors in the game, scoring just seven points and committing three costly turnovers. But regardless, the loss certainly didn't reflect well on the Eagles defense considering it was the first game as a starter for Case Keenum since 2023. According to Eagles beat reporter Tim McManus, the Eagles have signed Kenny Moore II, who signed to the team's practice squad last week, to their active roster. More news: ESPN Analyst Sends Message About Caleb Williams After Bears Rout Eagles It's unclear where Moore may fit into this Eagles defense moving forward, as third-year cornerback and first-team All Pro Cooper DeJean has traditionally served as the team's slot cornerback. Regardless, the Eagles will at least be bringing in valuable experience by signing Moore to their active roster.
Over the course of his nine year career, all spent with the Indianapolis Colts, Moore has started in 111 games. The Eagles are set to return home for a tough test against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, who currently average the most yards per game on offense of any team in football. So Moore may very well be asked to contribute early and often in his tenure with the team to try and get things back on track for the Eagles defense.
