The Philadelphia Eagles enter the season trying to chase the franchise's third Super Bowl win. On Oct. 26, the Eagles will celebrate the owner who brought Philadelphia its first two Super Bowl victories. Per the Eagles, chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie will be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame on Oct. 26 when Philadelphia hosts the Dallas Cowboys on "Monday Night Football" in Week 7.
Lurie called his selection into the Eagles Hall of Fame one of the "greatest honors" of his life. "It is truly rewarding to know that I will now join a distinguished group of legends who have all made significant contributions to this organization.
"From the very moment I became owner, I have been deeply committed to delivering a champion – both on and off the field – that our fans and city can be proud of. This franchise has given so much to me and my family over the past 32 years, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I would like to thank the selection committee for their support and am humbled that they felt I was deserving of this recognition." Lurie bought the Eagles in 1994.
The team has made four Super Bowl appearances during his tenure, winning Super Bowl LII and Super Bowl LIX. Former Eagles quarterback, also in the team's Hall of Fame, praised Lurie for his leadership. "Among Jeffrey's many qualities, it is his unique ability to lead others that has allowed this team to have sustained success over a long period of time," Ron Jaworski said.
"On behalf of the selection committee, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome Jeffrey Lurie into the Eagles Hall of Fame." Lurie will be the 55th inductee into the Eagles Hall of Fame.
