The Philadelphia Eagles are being linked to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph with Jalen Hurts out for the year.

Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to be done for the season after being diagnosed with blood clots in both his lungs and deep vein thrombosis. Now, with Hurts done for the year, the Eagles are being linked to a trade for a Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback. In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Kristopher Knox named the Eagles as a potential suitor for Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph.

"Mason Rudolph remains the most logical trade target for teams seeking a backup quarterback or spot starter midseason. He's one of three reserve QBs that the Pittsburgh Steelers have behind Aaron Rodgers, along with Will Howard and rookie Drew Allar," Knox wrote. "Potential Suitors: Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles." Seeing the Eagles be viewed as a team that could target Rudolph is understandable.

With Hurts being out long-term, the Eagles would benefit by adding another quarterback with NFL experience to their depth. While Rudolph is not a star like Hurts, he would give Philadelphia another QB option to work with as they aim to get their season back on track. Rudolph is currently in his seventh NFL season and sixth with the Steelers.

In 36 career NFL games split between the Steelers and Tennessee Titans, he has thrown 30 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, 4,925 passing yards, and has completed 64.3% of his passes. He has primarily been a backup quarterback during his career and could be a solid player for the Eagles to add to their group ahead of the deadline.
