Veteran manager Dick Campbell has been sacked by East Fife after a run of eight League One games without a victory and failing to progress in the KDM Evolution Trophy. The 72-year-old moved to New Bayview in February 2024 after long spells in charge at Arbroath and Forfar Athletic. Campbell has also led Dunfermline Athletic, Brechin City, Partick Thistle and Ross County and taking East Fife up via the 2025 play-offs was the seventh promotion of his career.
East Fife sit seventh in the table after one win from 10 games and Tuesday's 2-1 loss at Cumbernauld Colts of the Lowland League ended their involvement in the old Challenge Cup. An East Fife statement described the latest defeat as "a financial blow at a time when the club has invested a record amount in players over the past two seasons". Campbell's brother Ian also departs, along with fellow coaches Stuart Malcolm and John Young.
Meanwhile, former St Mirren and Clyde boss Danny Lennon will take charge of Dumbarton on an interim basis following the departure of Frank McKeown. Dumbarton are sixth in League Two and also fell out of the KDM Evolution Trophy after a 4-0 defeat at Clydebank. Lennon, who failed to win during an eight-game period in charge at Airdrieonians in the Championship last season, became director of football at Dumbarton in September.
