‘East of Eden’ Hits 6.5 Million Views in Four Days on Netflix

That total took the John Steinbeck adaptation to the No. 1 spot on the streamer’s weekly TV rankings. Created by Zoe Kazan and starring Florence Pugh, the project has given the 1953 Steinbeck novel renewed popularity, with Penguin Classics seeing a 200% increase in sales since Netflix announced the greenlight. But the most-watched Netflix title overall during the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4 was on the movies chart: “Unabomber,” starring Jacob Tremblay, hit 24.9 million views in its second week of streaming.

Back on the TV chart, “East of Eden” was followed by “Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story,” which achieved 5.7 million views in its third week of streaming.
