Eric Trump has shown off his new U.S. passport – which features a portrait of his glowering father. Dubbed the “patriot passport,” the document features President Trump’s own signature. It is also stamped with “250” to mark the United States’ Semiquincentennial, which was celebrated on July 4 this year. In a video posted to X, Eric, Trump’s third child, holds the image of his father up to the camera. “Look what just came in the mail,” Eric gloated. I absolutely love it.” In response, New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s press office posted an image of Brian Cox’s character, Logan Roy, from the HBO show Succession.
The screenshot is from a now-infamous scene where the billionaire tells his children: “You are not serious people.” The picture of Trump in the document is imprinted over the Declaration of Independence, with the passport also featuring an image of the founding fathers gathering to sign the historic document. The State Department previously confirmed that those hoping to be issued with one of the passports will need to apply in person at a passport center or agency. Trump’s portrait being imprinted onto the passports marks the first time that any living, current president has been featured on a U.S. passport. Just this month, Trump also became the first president to be printed on American currency in over a century. Trump’s face appears on a $1 coin, along with the words “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The gold-colored coins do not contain any gold, though, being made of copper along with zinc, manganese and nickel, according to the U.S. Mint. Eric, the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, is one of his father’s most vociferous defenders and supporters.
He regularly uploads posts praising his father on X, while also hitting out at those who criticize the commander-in-chief. When MapQuest posted that it would not be renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America - after Trump signed an executive order to that effect - Eric took a swipe at the firm. “Shocking to see you’re still alive…I thought the iPhone 3 took you out 15 years ago,” he wrote on X. The Trump scion went viral late last year when his father was heard describing him as a “good boy” while organizing a meeting between his son and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. Speaking on CNN’s The Source, Eric said that his father had not called him about the meeting. He said: “But I’m glad he acknowledges that I’m a good boy.
