Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens is a two-time MVP, but he's still missing a championship on his resume. According to ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, Jackson can change that this season, but it depends on one huge factor. Appearing on "First Take" on Thursday, Orlovsky made it clear that Jackson is not the problem.
"With Lamar Jackson healthy, the Baltimore Ravens can get to the Super Bowl," he said. "There's no doubt about it. This is a very good football team.
I think there are some question marks about the Baltimore Ravens that are fair. It's a new interior offensive line. [Rookie guard Vega] Ioane looks outstanding. We'll see when real games happen." The issue, in Orlovsky's view, is that Jackson doesn't have enough solid targets to throw to.
"I think the wide receiver corps is probably the biggest question mark for me," he detailed. "This is a wide receiver group that has Zay Flowers, really good player. Bateman, highs and lows both on the field and off the field when it comes to production and availability.
Mark Andrews is still Mark Andrews. Outside of that — just receiver, I'm not putting Mark into this conversation — outside of Zay, your two and threes are questions." Across the AFC North and the conference, plenty of other teams have more confidence at receiver. "Cincinnati doesn't have those [questions]," he said.
"Pittsburgh doesn't have those. The Chargers don't have those. Denver doesn't have that.
