The absurdly named FFO: Chillin' come from Concord, New Hampshire, and they bring a supremely form of alt-rocky pop-punk with occasional breakdowns. I saw them open for Joyce Manor and Glitterer last month, and I thought they were a blast. The band recently signed with DAZE, a label mostly focused on heavy hardcore, and they dropped the recent singles "All I Know" and "Forward Motion," which now seems to be called "Forward Perpetual Motion." In less than a month, they'll release their full-length debut.
FFO: Chillin' already have a couple of EPs to their credit, and they've crammed 16 songs onto their upcoming self-produced album High Horse. I wouldn't worry too much about that, though. Their songs tend to be short as hell.
Their new single "Fresh Start," for instance, lasts for just 85 seconds, and it's got a messy headrush energy that I really like. The emo-rap vocal cadences are working for me more than I'd expect if I read the phrase "emo-rap vocal cadences" before hitting play on the song.
