Ben Funkhouser, the Seattle musician who records as fish narc, started out as a pioneering producer in the emo-rap world, joining the storied collectives ThraxxHouse and GothBoiClique and making music with artists like Wicca Phase Springs Eternal and the late Lil Peep. In more recent years, Funkhouser moved to Olympia and shifted toward DIY indie rock, putting out his recent solo music on K Records. Later this week, he'll release Uncle, his deepest dive into '90s fuzz-jangle sounds. fish narc, now acting as a full band, recorded Uncle with Wednesday/MJ Lenderman producer Alex Farrar, and we've already posted the early singles "Much Less Me" and "Big Dumb World." Today, he shares the bouncy, exuberant new single "Emma." It's a starry-eyed, plainspoken love song devoted to Emma Hendry, also of Krimewatch and Phantasia.
Ben Funkhouser directed his own video, and you can see it below.
