Diego Pavia joined the Baltimore Ravens after going unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft, but was ultimately released before the start of the season. Now, the former Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback who finished his 2025 collegiate season as a Heisman Trophy finalist, is without a football home. However, Pavia revealed plans for his football future during a trip to Boulder for this past Saturday's matchup between the Colorado Buffaloes and Utah Utes.
I plan on doing some UFL," Pavia said. Pavia added that he plans to bring some of his former Vanderbilt teammates along for the ride on his UFL journey. The UFL is clearly open to this possibility.
In response to the news of Pavia's release from the Ravens in July, the league shared a post seemingly recruiting the former college football star. Mike Repole, a member of the UFL's ownership group, also publicly recruited Pavia to join the league earlier this year. No brainer for the @TheUFL .
I’d sign him tomorrow and start him this weekend," Repole wrote on social media. The 2027 UFL Draft will take place on Nov. 18.
