The Dallas Cowboys fell to 2-4 with a 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. One analyst isn't alarmed by their latest primetime blunder. Sam Acho doesn't think the Cowboys need to panic after their Week 6 loss.
The former NFL linebacker shut down any talk of writing off their season on Monday's "Good Morning Football." "I see a little bit of hope," Acho said. I'm not going to lie to you, I do see some hope." Dallas' high-octane offense stuttered due to two costly Dak Prescott interceptions on Sunday night, but the league's No. 30 defense held the Packers to 318 total yards. Perhaps more importantly, Acho remains optimistic about the Cowboys because of their upcoming schedule.
He pointed to a window that starts and ends with NFC East games against the short-handed Philadelphia Eagles, who have ruled out quarterback Jalen Hurts for the rest of the season. Dallas also plays the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8, the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9, and the Tennessee Titans in Week 11 after hosting the currently undefeated San Francisco 49ers. "I think the defense did play better, holding Green Bay to 23 points.
But my hope is what's coming up for the Cowboys," Acho said. "...They only have one winning team over the next six weeks." A vulnerable division also gives Acho reason to believe the Cowboys can rebound. The New York Giants remain atop the NFC East at 3-2-1 after benching Jameis Winston during Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints.
"You're in a division in which, OK, the Washington Commanders don't know how to finish games well," Acho added. "A division in which the New York Giants are trying to figure out their quarterback position. All of a sudden, the Dallas Cowboys, though they didn't play well ... the Cowboys actually have an exciting outlook."
