The GoFundMe campaign for Lindsay Clancy's parents nears $1 million as the trial continues, drawing thousands of donors.

A GoFundMe fundraiser established for the parents of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts woman accused of killing her three children in 2023, is approaching the $1 million mark as her closely watched murder trial enters a pivotal stage. The fundraising campaign, titled "The Musgrove Family Fund," was created for Clancy's parents, Mike and Paula Musgrove, and had drawn more than 27,000 donations as of this week. A recent anonymous contribution of $10,000 was listed as the fundraiser's top donation.

Testimony continues in Clancy's trial, where prosecutors and defense attorneys remain sharply divided over her mental state at the time of the deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months old. According to the GoFundMe page, the fund is intended not for Lindsay Clancy herself but for her parents, who have supported their daughter throughout the legal proceedings that followed the January 2023 tragedy. The fundraiser says Mike and Paula Musgrove relocated from their Connecticut home to Massachusetts to remain close to Lindsay and have spent years covering travel, lodging and living expenses associated with attending court proceedings and supporting her.

Organizer Brandee Mulligan wrote that the couple is "drawing down savings they spent a lifetime building" while standing by their daughter. Newsweek has messaged Brandee Mulligan for comment and is awaiting a response. The page stresses that contributors are not being asked to take a position on Lindsay Clancy's guilt or innocence.

Instead, it says supporters are being asked to recognize the financial and personal burdens allegedly borne by her parents over the past three years. "Nothing about this fund asks anyone to share their view of Lindsay or the criminal case," the fundraiser states. "It asks donors to recognize the extraordinary financial burden her parents have carried simply by continuing to be present." The campaign also says Clancy's attorney, Kevin Reddington, is aware of the fundraiser and that the Musgroves are the direct beneficiaries who will control how the money is used.

Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, is charged with murdering her three children in the family's Duxbury, Massachusetts, home on January 24, 2023. Authorities allege that she strangled the children with exercise bands after sending her husband, Patrick Clancy, out to pick up takeout food. Afterward, she allegedly attempted suicide by cutting herself and jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.

The defense has argued that Clancy was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder, along with the effects of psychiatric medications at the time of the killings. Prosecutors, meanwhile, contend that she was aware of her actions and have portrayed her as deliberate and calculating. Recent testimony highlighted internet searches found on Clancy's phone, including searches related to postpartum psychosis, "psychosis symptoms," and psychiatric medication five days before the children died.
