One week ago, quarterback Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants were flying high following their season-opening win against the rival-Dallas Cowboys. The Giants were not only blown out 28-6 by the Los Angeles Rams on "Monday Night Football" in Week 2, but "Big Blue" also saw a slew of critical players suffer injuries, including Dart. The 23-year-old signal-caller left New York's defeat in the first quarter after going down with a knee injury and multiple reports Tuesday said that Dart's season could now be over.
Giants running back Cam Skattebo revealed following Monday's contest that his teammate "wanted to get back out there" after the injury but team doctors "kind of told him no." Dart finished the game 3-for-5 with 20 passing yards following a strong Week 1 performance where he posted career highs in completion percentage (79.3) and passer rating (134.2). Veteran quarterback Jameis Winston struggled mightily versus the Rams defense, going 11-for-27 with 111 passing yards, no touchdowns and one interception. Dart missed two games during his 2025 rookie campaign due to a concussion.
Winston filled in for the youngster and went 37-for-65 with 567 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. New York lost both games that Dart was sidelined last year as part of a nine-game losing streak.
